Electric Parking Brake (EPB)
Automatic application/release of the EPB
The EPB is automatically applied when
the brake pedal is depressed and the
gear is shifted to P. The EPB is
automatically released when the gear is
shifted to D/R.
Manual application/release of the EPB
After depressing the brake pedal to make
sure the vehicle is at a standstill, lift the
EPB switch upward to apply the EPB; with
the power (ignition) switch in "ON" mode,
depress the brake pedal and press the
EPB switch to release the EPB.
◼ Other EPB functions
⚫ Hill Hold Control (HHC) function: the driver fastens the seat belt, closes the door, and
applies the EPB before the vehicle starts, the system will automatically release the
EPB according to the torque balance principle, so that the vehicle will not skid and
start smoothly.
⚫ Electronic deceleration control function: When the vehicle is running, keep lifting the
EPB switch upward and the vehicle will brake until it stops.
◼ AUTO HOLD after power-off
⚫ When the driver stops the vehicle and turns off the power(ignition) switch, the EPB will
be applied automatically.
