Removing a slim optical drive
1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (Preparation for disassembly on page 16)
2. Remove the access panel (Access panel on page 17)
3. Remove the front bezel (Front bezel on page 18)
4. Disconnect the cables from the rear of the drive (1), press the release latch (2), and slide the drive out of
the front of the drive bay (3).
CAUTION: The slim optical drive must be removed from the drive cage before the drive cage can be
removed.
CAUTION: When removing the cables, pull the tab or connector instead of the cable itself to avoid
damaging the cable.
