Rear chassis fan
1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (Preparation for disassembly on page 16).
2. Remove the access panel (Access panel on page 17).
3. Remove the front bezel (Front bezel on page 18).
4. Remove the slim optical drive (Removing a slim optical drive on page 29).
5. Remove the drive cage (Drive cage on page 19).
6. Remove the three silver Phillips screws (1) that secure the fan to the rear of chassis.
7. Disconnect the fan control cable from the system board connector labeled SYS_FAN.
8. Lift the fan out of the chassis (2).
To install the fan assembly, reverse the removal procedure. Be sure to orient the air ow out of the unit.
