INTRODUCTION
This
service
manual
contains
information
required
to
install,
test,
adjust
and
service
the
Hewlett-Packard
Model
508A
Vector
Voltmeter.
The
HP
8508A
is
shown
in
Figure
1-1.
On
the
title

this
manual
is

Part
Number.
This
number
can
be
used
to
order

x
6
inch
micro-
film
transparencies
of
the
manual.
Each

contains
up
to
96

first
four
digits
and
the
letter
comprise
the

only
changes
when
a
change
is
made
to
the
instrument.
The
last
five
digits
comprise
the
serial
number
which
is
-
unique
for
each
instrument.
The
content
of
this
manual
applies
to
instruments
with
the
serial
prefix(es)
listed
under
SERIAL
NUMBERS
on
the
title
page
of
this
manual.
An
instrument
manufactured
after
the
printing
of
this
manual
may
have
a
serial
number
prefix
that
is
not
listed
on
the
title
page.
The
unlisted
serial
number
prefix
indicates
that
the
instrument
is
different
from
those
described
in
this
manual.
The
manual
for
this
new
instrument
is
accompanied
by

This
