NOTE: The speaker assembly spare part kit includes a cable.

For use only with computer models equipped with a 14.0-in display assembly 613348-001
Before removing the speakers, follow these steps:
1.
Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the
computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2.
Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.
3.
Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet
and then unplugging the AC Adapter from the computer.
4.
Remove the battery (see
Battery on page 72).
5.
Remove the following components:
a.
Bluetooth module (see
Bluetooth module on page 74)
b.
Mass storage device (see
Mass storage device on page 75)
c.
Optical drive (see
Optical drive on page 86)
d.
Keyboard (see
Keyboard on page 88)
e.
Switch cover (see
Switch cover on page 94)
f.
Palm rest (see

g.
TouchPad (see

h.
Display assembly (see

Remove the speakers:
NOTE: Steps 1 and 2 apply only to computer models equipped with a 15.6-in display assembly. See
steps 3 through 5 for speaker assembly removal information for computer models equipped with 14.0-
in display assembly.
1. Remove the slotted Torx T8M2.5×7.0 screw (1) that secures the speaker assembly to the base
enclosure.
