Removal and Replacement Procedures
Fan Assembly
To remove the fan assembly:
1. Power down the server blade and remove it from the server blade enclosure. Refer to the
“Server Blad e Preparation” section in this chapter.
2. Lay the server blade on a flat, stable surface.
3. Disconnect the two fan cables from the system board.

4. Squeeze the retaining clips on the fan assembly (1) and lift the fan assembly from the
retaining brackets (2).

Reverse steps 1 through 4 to replace the fan assembly.
