Using the Configuration Setup for initial storage system
settings
Procedure
The Configuration Setup guides you through the steps necessary to configure the storage system and
prepare it for deployment.
Prerequisites
Have the following information available:
• Desired Disk RAID configuration
• Network configuration for Fibre Channel systems: bond type to be used, one bond IP address, and a
subnet mask for each controller
• Network configuration for iSCSI systems: bond type to be used, two bond IP addresses, and a subnet
mask for each controller
• Default gateway IP address
• Management credentials: user name and password to manage the storage array
• Settings information: management group name, storage pool name, storage system name, and a
storage pool virtual IP address (VIP)
• Remote support (if chosen): contact name, email address, and phone number
• Proxy (if required in your environment): proxy protocol, proxy IP address, port number, and if required,
authentication credentials
Procedure
Write down the information so that you can refer to it while you go through the Configuration Setup
wizard.
Performing the initial configuration
Procedure
1. Complete the steps in Setting the initial network configuration.
2. From the administrative computer that is directly connected to the MGMT port of storage system with
an Ethernet cable, open a web browser and connect to the storage controller at https://
172.16.253.201.
NOTE:
Enter the IP address exactly as noted. Do not use DNS.
3. Enter admin as the user name and password to log on.
4. On the Welcome window of the HPE StoreVirtual 3200 Management Console, click Configuration
Setup.
