150 Getting Connected
To change the device name
The device name identifies your device in a Bluetooth network.
Make sure that you have turned Bluetooth on.
On the Wireless controls screen, touch Bluetooth settings > Device name.
Enter the name for your device in the dialog box, then touch OK.
Your new device name appears on the Bluetooth settings screen.
To pair and connect a Bluetooth hands-free headset or car kit
You can connect your device to a Bluetooth hands-free headset or a Bluetooth
car kit and use those devices to send and/or receive calls. Before you can use a
Bluetooth hands-free headset or car kit, you must pair it first with your phone.
Note The device only supports the headset and hands-free Bluetooth profiles. If you try to
connect the device to a Bluetooth device that is not a hands-free headset or car kit,
you will receive an “Unable to connect message.
Make sure that you have turned Bluetooth on. See To turn on Bluetooth and
make the device discoverable (visible)” earlier in this chapter.
Press HOME > MENU, then touch Settings.
Touch Wireless controls > Bluetooth settings. Your device will start to scan
for Bluetooth devices within range and will display all detected devices below
the Bluetooth devices section.
Tip If you don’t find the device in the list, press , then touch Scan for devices to
scan again.
4. Touch the hands-free headset or car kit in the list to start pairing.
5. When prompted, enter the hands-free
headset or car kits passcode, then touch
OK. Refer to the documentation that comes
with the hands-free headset or car kit if you
don’t know the passcode.
