Lower the screen brightness. See “Display settings” earlier in this chapter.
Use the AC adapter to plug your device into an external power outlet
whenever possible.
Turn Bluetooth off when you are not using it. Make your device visible to
other devices only when you are trying to establish a Bluetooth partnership.

Turn Wi-Fi off when you are not using it. For more information about Wi-Fi,
see “Connecting to the Internet” in Chapter 7.
Turn off your device’s connection to GPS satellites when not in use. To do this,
press HOME > MENU, touch Settings > Security & location, then clear the
GPS satellites option. For more information, see Chapter 8.
Lower the volume.
Close battery-intensive programs, such as the Camera, when you are done
using them.
