Check Item Requirement
Corrosive gases There must be no acidic, alkaline, or other corrosive gases
in the installation site.
Surge protection
l Signal cables must be routed against walls indoors. Do
not deploy signal cables overhead outdoors.
l Keep signal cables away from power cables and surge
protection devices.
Electromagnetic radiation Comply with 9.3.1.7 Electromagnetism Requirements for
the Equipment Room.
3.3 Checking the Cabinet
Before installing a router, check whether the cabinet meets requirements according to Table
3-2.

Width 19-inch standard cabinet
Installation space There must be at least 3 U of vertical space in the cabinet, and the
depth of the cabinet must be at least 600 mm.
Grounding There is reliable ground point on the cabinet to connect the router
to ground.
Heat dissipation
l Sufficient space must be reserved around the cabinet.
l If a router is placed in a closed cabinet, the cabinet must have
air vents to ensure good ventilation.
Guide rail The cabinet must be equipped with L-shaped guide rails in the
following conditions:
l An AR2220, AR2240, AR2240C, AR3260 or AR3670 router
needs to be installed in the cabinet.
l The distance between the front and rear mounting rails does
not meet the requirement for router installation.
3.4 Checking the Power Supply System
Table 3-3 lists power supply requirements of different router models.
