1.3.1 Front Panel
I. Front panel
The S5648P/S5648P-PWR provides 48 x 10/100/1000Base-TX Ethernet ports, one
Console port, and four 1000 Mbps SFP Combo ports on its front panel, as shown in
Figure 1-8.

II. LEDs
The S5648P/S5648P-PWR provides one power LED, one RPS LED, one fabric LED,
one module LED, one mode LED, one 7-segment digitron display, four 1000 Mbps SFP
port status LEDs, and 48 x 10/100/1000Base-T port status LEDs on its front panel. The
meaning of each LED is shown in
Table 1-2
III. Console port
The S5648P/S5648P-PWR provides an EIA/TIA-232-compliant console port, which
enables you to configure the switch from the local or remote site. For the attributes of
the port, refer to
Table 1-4.
IV. Attributs of 1000 Mbps SFP Combo port
The S5648P/S5648P-PWR provides four SFP Combo ports on its front panel, each one
corresponding to a 10/100/1000Base-T auto-negotiation Ethernet port. For each pair,
