Chapter 3 Installing the Switch
Caution:
When you ask your sales agent to maintain the switch, you must ensure that the
dismantlement-preventive seal on a mounting screw of the switch chassis is intact. If
you want to open the chassis, you should contact the agent for permission. Otherwise,
you will bear any consequence resulted from your actions without permission.
3.1 Mounting the Switch in a Rack or on a Tabletop
3.1.1 Rack-Mounting the Switch
Follow these steps to mount your switch in a standard 19-inch rack:
Step 1: Check that the rack is sturdy and properly earthed. Attach the rack-mount
brackets to the front of the chassis with screws.
Step 2: Place the device on a shelf in the rack and slide it to a proper position along the
guide rails, reserving a suitable clearance between the device and the guide rails.
Step 3: Fix the brackets to the rack posts with screws, making sure that the device is
securely fixed.
