7.3.2 Shallow Discharge Test
Before conducting a shallow discharge test, check whether the test requirements
are met. If the requirements are met, the button for starting a shallow discharge
test is available. Otherwise, the button is unavailable.
Before performing a shallow discharge test, ensure that:
● If batteries have been replaced, choose Control > Maintain Batteries on the
MDU and check that Update Installation Date has been changed as required
before testing the batteries.
● The UPS works in normal mode with a load ratio uctuation less than 10%.
● The UPS generates no battery overtemperature, overvoltage, or overcurrent
alarm. No generator is connected to the UPS.
● The mains, batteries, charger, and discharger are normal. No overload alarm is
generated.
Automatic Shallow Discharge Test
Step 1 Perform an automatic shallow discharge test on the LCD or WebUI.
● LCD
On the main menu screen, choose Settings > Battery Settings > Shallow
Discharge Test. Set Scheduled test to Enabled and set Time, Time interval,
and Discharge ratio as required. After the setting is complete, the system will
perform an automatic shallow discharge test based on the settings.
● WebUI
Set Sched. shallow dis. test to Enable and set Sched. shallow dis. test time,
Sched. shallow dis. test interval, and Shallow dis. test dis. ratio (%) as
required. After the setting is complete, the system will perform an automatic
shallow discharge test based on the settings.
WebUI path: Monitoring > Battery System > Running Parameter.

Manual Shallow Discharge Test
Step 1 Perform a manual shallow discharge test on the LCD or WebUI.
● LCD
On the main menu screen, choose Control > Maintain Batteries. Tap
Shallow Discharge Test and
to start a shallow discharge test.
● WebUI
On the WebUI, choose Monitoring > UPS System > Running Control. Click
Start next to Shallow discharge test to start a shallow discharge test.
