3.1.1.2 Installation Environment
Do not install the UPS in high temperature, low temperature, or damp environments. For
details about environmental specifications, see chapter Technical Specifications.
Install the UPS away from water sources, heat sources, and flammable or explosive
materials. Keep the UPS away from direct sunlight, dust, volatile gases, corrosive
materials, and air dense with salt particles.
Do not install the UPS in environments with conductive metal scraps in the air.
The optimal operating temperatures for valve-regulated lead-acid batteries (VRLA
batteries) are 20–30°C. Operating temperatures higher than 30°C shorten the battery
lifespan and operating temperatures lower than 20°C reduce the battery backup time.
3.1.1.3 Installation Clearances
Reserve the following clearances around the cabinet to facilitate operations and ventilation:
Reserve at least 800 mm from the front and rear of the cabinet.
Reserve at least 500 mm from the top of the cabinet.
If a top air-flow cabinet is deployed, the UPS can be installed against a wall and no space
needs to be reserved at the rear. If no top air-flow cabinet is deployed, at least 500 mm
space should be reserved at the rear for ventilation. If the UPS will be operated from the
rear, at least 800 mm space should be reserved for operations.
