andself‐levelingcapabilityduetothecoaxial,counter‐rotatingblade
design.As
aresultyoumaysometimesfindthatit’sbettertoallowtheflybarand/or
helicoptertomore‘naturally’returncloserto‘level’beforeattemptingto
changedirectionduringforward/backward/sidewaysflight,especiallywhen
flyinginwind.
Forexampleifyou’reflyingforwardinonedirectionandwanttoswitch
toflying
backwardintheotherdirectionyoushould(forthemostpart)‘neutralize’the
elevatorcontrol/stickthenwatchandallowtheflybartochangefromamore
‘forward’angletocloserto‘level’beforegivingbackward/upelevatorcontrol
input.Otherwisetheflybarandupperrotorbladescanbeworking
againstthe
lowerrotorbladeswhichcanresultinalossofstabilitythatcausesthe
helicoptertopitchorbanktoananglethatcannotberecoveredfrombefore
resultinginacrash.
Theseconsiderationsinmindit’salwaysagoodideatotakeyourtimewhen
attemptingto
changethedirectionthehelicopterisflyingin(especiallywhen
flyinginwind)sotheflybarand/orhelicoptercanmorenaturallyreturncloser
tolevelpriortoprovidingthecontrolinput(s)tochangethedirection.
