LASER Error Indicators
The LDC−3700B Series Laser Diode Current Source Controllers indicate general LASER operational
error conditions. Each error condition results in a controller action as shown in the following table.

Error Condition Action
Interlock Output off, INTERLOCK light flashes at 1 Hz
Open circuit Output off, OPEN CIRCUIT light flashes at 1 Hz.
If this condition was caused by an excessively high
compliance voltage, the VOLTAGE LIMIT light will also
be turned on.
Output shorted OUTPUT SHORTED light comes on. This indicator becomes
lit whenever the LASER output is off.
Current limit CURRENT LIMIT light flashes at 1 Hz
Voltage limit VOLTAGE LIMIT light flashes at 1 Hz. This indicator warns that
the output is within 0.25 volts of Voltage Limit. If voltage limit is
reached, the LASER output will shut off.
Optical Output Power Limit Output off, POWER LIMIT light flashes at 1 Hz
