VU-11 Meter Unit (Option)
The VU-11 is an optional analog VU meter assembly to be used with the IMX-800 SERIES. You may monitor the
output signal levels of the eight sub-groups and the MIX L/R/C.
Only use the special cable (supplied with the VU-11 assembly) to connect the VU-11 meter bridge to the console.
- Mounting the VU-11 meter assembly to the Mixer
Mounting the VU-11 meter assembly to the Mixer should read. Please note there are three areas where there
are pairs of screws (six screws total) on the rear panel. Remove these screws before attempting to mount the
VU-11 assembly. After you have placed the VU-11 assembly in the proper location, use the six screws to firmly
attach the VU-11 assembly to the Mixer.
- Meter Adjustments
The VU meters are set at the factory to indicate “0 VU” for an output signal level of +4dBu. To change these
settings, use a small screwdriver to turn the potentiometer controls that adjust the signal level to the VU meters.
On the rear panel of the VU-11 there are 11 small holes (one for each meter) in the metal surface of the meter
housing. Insert the screwdriver in the hole and adjust the control as necessary to attain the desired indication
on the associated VU meter. There also is a mechanical adjustment for the meter needle position. Gently use a
screwdriver to adjust the meter needle position control (this looks like a screw head on the lower front face of
the meter) to attain mechanical “zero”.
Do not connect or disconnect the VU-11 interface cable from the console when the console is
operational. Always switch off the RS-3800 power supply, or there may be loud ‘pops’ on the sub-
group and MIX L/R/C outputs!
