Toavoidproductdamagefromelectromagnetic
interference:
–Itisveryimportantthatyoureadthisinformation
regardingthepossibleeffectsofelectromagnetic
interferenceonthisproduct.
Thisproductmaybesusceptibletoelectromagneticinterference
(EMI),whichisinterferingelectromagneticenergy(EM)emittedfrom
sourcessuchasradiostations,TVstations,amateurradio(HAM)
transmitters,twowayradios,andcellularphones.Theinterference
(fromradiowavesources)cancausethepoweredbedtoreleaseits
brakes,movebyitself,ormoveinunintendeddirections.Itcanalso
permanentlydamagethepoweredbed'scontrolsystem.Theintensity
oftheinterferingEMenergycanbemeasuredinvoltspermeter
(V/m).EachpoweredbedcanresistEMIuptoacertainintensity.
Thisiscalledits“immunitylevel.”Thehighertheimmunitylevel,the
greatertheprotection.Atthistime,currenttechnologyiscapable
ofachievingatleasta20V/mimmunitylevel,whichwouldprovide
usefulprotectionfromthemorecommonsourcesofradiatedEMI.
Thereareanumberofsourcesofrelativelyintenseelectromagnetic
fieldsintheeverydayenvironment.Someofthesesourcesare
obviousandeasytoavoid.Othersarenotapparentandexposure
isunavoidable.However,webelievethatbyfollowingthewarnings
listedbelow,yourrisktoEMIwillbeminimized.
