 Use of Isotretinoin (Accutane®) within 6 months prior to treatment.
 Known skin photosensitivity or using drugs increasing skin photosensitivity.
 Diseases that may be stimulated by light, such as epilepsy, lupus and urticaria.
 Certain delay is recommended if other recent treatments like light, laser or RF
were performed on the same area.
 Fresh tan from sun, sunbeds or chemicals.
 Lasers can cause increased hair growth in some individuals with the highest risk
groups for being females of Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, and South Asian
heritage treated on the face and neck.
 Vitiligo.
 As per the practitioner's discretion, refrain from treating any condition which
might make it unsafe for the patient.
Do not treat the upper eyelids and the lips!
Do not treat over tattoo and permanent makeup!
 Possible Adverse Effects
Possible adverse effects include but are not limited by: discomfort or pain, excessive
skin redness (erythema) and/or swelling (edema), damage to natural skin texture
(crust, blister, and burn), change of pigmentation (hyper- and hypo-pigmentation),
in-growing hairs and scarring.
Peri-follicular erythema and edema lasting for a few days after the treatment is a
desirable typical treatment end point.
The patient must understand the importance of pre-treatment and post-treatment
instructions and that failure to comply with these instructions may increase the
probability of complications.
Hair removal by lasers or intense pulse light sources can cause increased hair growth
in some individuals. Based upon currently available data, the highest risk groups for
this response are females of Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, and South Asian
heritage treated on the face and neck.
