Section 8: Lumecca Treatment Information
IPL Lumecca treatment is based on principles of selective photothermolysis. The light
penetrates into the skin and is selectively absorbed by lesion chromophore (melanin
or hemoglobin) having darker color than surrounding tissue. Absorbed energy is
converted into heat, coagulating the lesion which fades during a few weeks following
the treatment. Fine textural lesions like macro-pores, and fine lines may improve
along with the pigmented and vascular lesions in the skin photo-rejuvenation
process. Multiple treatment sessions may be required for best results.
 Instructions for Use
The Lumecca Handpieces are intended for treatment of superficial vascular and
pigmented lesions on skin type I to IV.
