Long Term: (More than 6 months):
Requires special precautions. Preservative treatment of bearings and machined surfaces will be re-
quired. Rotate shaft several times every 3 months. Driver and coupling manufacturers should be contact-
ed for long term storage procedures.
NOTICE:
For pumps or back pull-outs supplied with cartridge mechanical seals, the centering tabs must
be in place and tightened, and the set screw collar loosened. Failure to take these steps could
result in damage to the mechanical seal or shaft sleeve.
2.3.2 Handling
Use care when moving mixers. Lifting equipment must be able to adequately support the entire assem-
bly
. Hoist bare mixer using a suitable sling, under the suction and discharge flange and bearing frame.
Baseplate mounted units are moved with slings under the mixer casing flanges and driver. See Figure

er on page 12, for examples of proper lifting techniques.
