  If the auger on your J&M Farm Equipment won't return to the down position, several factors could be at play. First, check for dirt in the restrictor fittings outside the hydraulic cylinder and clean them. A faulty check valve could also be the culprit, requiring replacement. Ensure the feed gate is closed and that the limit switch on the feed gate indicator assembly is functioning correctly. Another potential cause is that the upper and lower flighting are locked together; in this case, the bearing on top of upper auger flighting needs adjusting to ensure there is a 1/8” (0,32cm) gap between the bottom of the top bearing and the top of the upper tube housing.

  Grain flow stoppage in your J&M Farm Equipment can occur for several reasons. One common cause is a sheared bolt in the drive dog. Replace the bolt, and when engaging the upper and lower flighting, do so at a slow rate of speed. Also, ensure you never engage or disengage the upper and lower flightings until the augers come to a complete stop, as folding the auger before it stops can cause issues. Another potential cause is a sheared PTO key; replace the key and tighten the set screw.

What to do if my J&M Farm Equipment auger tube is breaking away?

  If the auger tube on your J&M Farm Equipment is breaking away at the hinge area, or if the ram in the hydraulic folding cylinder is bent, it might be because the upper auger was extended in the upright position while traveling in the field. If necessary, repair or replace the folding cylinder. Remember to lower the auger to the field position after unloading.

Why is the hanger bushing assembly hot on my J&M 1012 Farm Equipment?

  If the hanger bushing assembly at the top of the lower auger flighting is hot on your J&M Farm Equipment, it could be due to the top of the hanger bushing assembly rubbing against the drive dog. Loosen the two bolts and re-adjust the position of the hanger bushing assembly, then re-tighten the bolts. Alternatively, remove the lower flighting assembly and place a shim between the spline coupler and the gearbox.
