JAYCO TOWABLE SECTION 8-PLUMBING SYSTEMS
Turn the city water / tank fill valve to the tank fill (horizontal) position. Turn on the
water source, the tank will fill. When tank is full, turn off the water and disconnect
the hose.
Siphon fill the fresh water tank: Place the clear plastic tubing (inside the basement
access cover) into a container of fresh water. Set the (4) valves to the following
positions:
• V1 is ON
• V2 is OFF
• V3 is ON
• V4 is OFF
Turn the pump ON, and water will be drawn into the fresh water tank. Turn the water
pump OFF when the tank is full.
17. Power to water heater should be OFF. (both switches: Electric & LP GAS) When the
fresh water tank is full: Reset the four valves to the NORMAL position:
• V1 is OFF
• V2 is ON
• V3 is OFF
• V4 is ON
Turn the pump ON to send water through the lines.
18. Run water through all faucets (hot & cold, including outside shower) until chlorine
smell is gone. Turn faucets and outside shower off, turn pump OFF.
19. Then, drain the fresh water system again. (see Draining the Fresh Water System).
20. Water heater bypass valves (if so equipped): Close bypass valve C, open valves
A&B on water heater, replace water heater drain plug.
21. Refill the fresh water tank with fresh water again and when water heater is full of
water, turn the water heater power ON. Refer back to Step 16 above for instructions
on refilling the fresh water tank.
NOTE: If filling the fresh water tank with the siphon method, remember to reset
the (4) valves to siphon fill positions indicated in Step 16.
Lingering Chlorine Taste:
If a chlorine taste lingers in the water, flush the water system with a solution consisting of
one-quart vinegar to five gallons of clean water. Re-flush as necessary. The vinegar
solution may damage the water heater or the water filter, so both must be bypassed again
before performing this operation.
Follow the steps outlined in Draining the Fresh Water System with one exception, do not
drain the water heater. Water heater bypass valves (if so equipped), close valves A&B
and open valve C. Do not remove the water heater drain plug.
Full System Canister water filter (if so equipped): Remove the canister, take out the
filter, and reattach the empty canister.
After draining the system:
14. Water heater power should be OFF. (both switches: Electric & LP Gas) Water heater
bypass valves (if applicable): A&B should be closed, valve C open.
15. Put the vinegar solution into the fresh water tank. Place the clear tubing into a
container with the vinegar solution. (located inside the basement access cover)
