4.9 WRECKER BOOM OPERATION - DUAL LINE
BOOM
The MPL-40 wrecker boom is an extremely eff ective tool in recovery or
retrieval prior to lifting and towing. To operate the winch eff ectively, care and
thought must be given.
1. Check the direction you wish
the work to travel, being sure
there are no major obstacles in
the way.
2. Position and align the truck
to obtain as direct a pull as
possible. Straight line pulls are
the best and most effi cient.
3. Set the brakes on your Jerr-Dan
unit. The use of wheel chocks
is also recommended.
4. Unfold the underlift boom.
