What to do if my JetCat Engine turbine doesn't ignite?
    • M
      mullinssamanthaAug 18, 2025
If your JetCat Engine turbine doesn't ignite, check the starting gas system for leaks and poor connections. Ensure the starting gas tank is full and consider flying in warmer conditions. Adjust the glow plug voltage to ensure it glows bright red. If the glow plug is defective, replace it. Make sure the glow plug element is extracted by at least 1/8 inch (two coils).

What to do if the JetCat Engine starting process fails?

      Dr. Amy ClarkAug 20, 2025
If the JetCat Engine starting process fails, wait until the Cool Down sequence is finished (the green OK LED will stop blinking). Charge the battery and check the ECU’s battery connection. Replace the defective glow plug if the red Pump running LED blinks. Check the three-conductor cable for the starter motor and glow plug for proper connection from the ECU to the turbine.

Why does my JetCat Engine turbine ignite, but the start process is discontinued?
    • G
      greensandraAug 23, 2025
If your JetCat Engine turbine ignites but the start process is discontinued, it could be due to air in the fuel feed lines, the fuel pump not running, or the starting gas tank being nearly empty. Examine all Festo fittings, nipples, clunk, and filter for air leaks in the fuel system. Check for fuel filter clogs. Test the pump in manual mode to ensure it runs when the red Pump running LED illuminates. Fill the starting gas tank.

Why does the JetCat Engine turbine quit with Watchdog Failure?
    • S
      schneiderdominicAug 26, 2025
If the JetCat Engine turbine quits with a Watchdog Failure, it may be because static discharge reset the ECU. Do not mount the ECU directly to the fiberglass body of the plane. Use a plywood mount with a layer of foam tape and Velcro between the body and the ECU. If the plane has a glossy finish and the failure happened directly after the wheels left the ground, spray the tires with an anti-static spray.

How to clean a JetCat Engine starter unit that slips and makes noise?
    • K
      Keith WilliamsAug 28, 2025
To address a JetCat Engine starter unit that slips and makes noise, periodically clean the O-ring and compressor nut with a cotton swab and solvent to remove dust and oil sediment.

Why doesn't the JetCat Engine ECU follow full commands from the throttle stick?
    • S
      Stephanie ShahAug 30, 2025
If the JetCat Engine ECU doesn't follow full commands from the throttle stick, it may be due to a programming alteration in the R/C transmitter. Check alignment with the RC-Check menu and re-align the ECU to the R/C system.

Why is my JetCat Engine EGT giving erratic temperature or RPM readings?
    • R
      Ryan SampsonSep 2, 2025
If your JetCat Engine EGT is giving erratic temperature or RPM readings, the transmitter antenna may be too close to the model. Keep the antenna away from the model, as it may cause false readings.

What to do if my JetCat P80 Toy turbine doesn't ignite?
    • K
      Kelly BoyleSep 4, 2025
If your JetCat Toy turbine doesn't ignite, there are several potential causes: * A leak or bad connection in the starting gas system: Check the starting gas system for leaks and poor connections. * Low starting gas pressure: Fill the starting gas tank or fly in warmer conditions. * Glow plug not glowing bright enough: Adjust the glow plug voltage until it glows bright red. * Defective glow plug or element not sufficiently extracted: Replace the defective glow plug, ensuring the element is extracted by at least 1/8 inch (two coils).

What to do if the JetCat P80 Toy starting process fails?
    • B
      Barbara NelsonSep 7, 2025
If the starting process fails on your JetCat Toy, it could be due to several reasons: * The turbine is still too warm: Wait until the cool-down sequence is finished. The green OK LED will stop blinking. * Low battery or faulty connection: Charge the battery and check the ECU’s battery connection. * Defective glow plug: Replace the defective glow plug (indicated by a blinking red Pump running LED). * Disconnected three-conductor cable: Check the cable and ensure a proper connection from the ECU to the turbine.

Why does my JetCat Toy turbine ignite, but the start process is discontinued?
    • J
      jessicaconleySep 9, 2025
If your JetCat Toy turbine ignites but the start process is discontinued, consider these possibilities: * Air in fuel feed lines: Examine all Festo fittings, nipples, clunk, and filter for air leaks in the fuel system. * Fuel pump not running: Test the pump in manual mode. The fuel pump must run when the red Pump running LED illuminates. * Starting gas tank nearly empty: Fill the starting gas tank.
