The California Air Resources Board and JetSurf™ are pleased to explain the emission control warranty
system. In California, new motorized surfboard engines must be designed, built and equipped to
meet the State’s stringent anti-smog standards. JetSurf™ must warrant the emission control systém
on the motorized surfboard engine for the period specied in Section 2: The Limited Warranty Ap-
plication and Terms, provided there has been no abuse, neglect or improper maintenance of the
motorized surfboard engine.
The emission control system may include parts such as:
Idle bypass valve; air intake adapter; throttle position sensor; spark plugs; intake manifold air pres-
sure sensor; ignition coils; intake manifold air temperature sensor; air box; engine temperature
sensor; intake and exhaust valve and seals; knock sensor; intake manifold; engine control module
ECM; crankcase ventilation valve; throttle body; throttle body seal; fuel rail; intake manifold seal; fuel
injectors; wire harness and connectors; fuel pressure regulator; fuel lter; fuel pump; supercharger.
The emission warranty covers damage to other engine components that is caused by the failure of
a warranted part. The Owner’s and Operator’s Manual contains written instructions for the proper
maintenance and use of the motorized surfboard. All emission warranty parts are warranted by
JetSurf™ for the entire warranty period of the motorized surfboard, unless the part is scheduled for
replacement as required maintenance in the Owner’s and Operator’s Manual.
Emissions warranty parts that are scheduled for replacement, as required maintenance, are war-
ranted by JetSurf™ for the period of time before the rst scheduled replacement date for that part.
Emission warranty parts that are scheduled for regular inspection, but not regular replacement, are
warranted by JetSurf™ for the entire warranty period of the motorized surfboard. Any emission war-
ranty part repaired or replaced under the terms of this warranty statement is warranted by JetSurf™
for the remainder of the warranty period of the original part. All parts replaced under this limited
warranty become the property of JetSurf™.
Maintenance receipts and records should be transferred to each subsequent owner of the motor-
ized surfboard.
Where a warrantable emissions condition exists, JetSurf™ will repair the motorized surfboard engine
at no cost, including diagnosis, parts and labor when performed by an authorized JetSurf™ dealer as
outlined in Section 2: The Limited Warranty Application and Terms.
S e c t i o n 5 . Product Change.
JetSurf™ reserves the right to implement changes in construction or components at any time without
incurring any obligation to make the same or similar changes on motorized surfboards previously
built and/or sold.
S e c t i o n 6 . Customer Satisfaction.
Se c t i o n 6 . 1 . Procedure. Any matters regarding potential corrections as applicable under this
JetSurf™ Limited Warranty should rst be addressed with an authorized JetSurf™ dealer. While it is
not a requirement to contact the original-purchase dealer, JetSurf™ encourages consumers to do so.
First contact should be with the dealer’s Service department. If satisfaction is not achieved, consumer
should then contact dealer Management.
– failure to properly maintain and care for the board and its components in accordance with the
instructions found within this Owner’s Manual.
No one, including dealers, agents, distributors or suppliers is authorized to create a warranty or in any
manner increase or modify the scope of this JetSurf™ Limited Warranty in any manner whatsoever.
This JetSurf™ Limited Warranty requires, where allowed by law, the timely completion and return of
the warranty registration card to JetSurf™.
The warranty statement exists between the original retail and JetSurf™. No rights are transferred to
any third party. Within the specied, stated warranty period and under all circumstances, the entire
liability of JetSurf™ is limited to the repair or replacement of any defective component or aected
portion of the motorized surfboard, or the actual price paid for the motorized surfboard. Some ju-
risdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of liability, so the above statement may not apply.
S e c t i o n 4 . Emissions Control
S e c t i o n 4 . 1 General Requirements. Specic warranty requirements may be designated by
governmental and regulatory agencies. JetSurf™ emissions warranty is subject to the requirements
as specied in the location of the original owner(s) OR the location in which the primary operation of
the motorized surfboard will be. It is the responsibility of the owner(s) to ensure that the emissions
requirements are met for proper operation of the motorized surfboard.
S e c t i o n 4 . 2 California Emissions.* In the U.S. state of California, a special environmental label
is required by the California Air Resources Board. The label has one (1), two (2), three (3) or four (4)
stars. A hangtag is provided that describes the star rating system. The emissions requirements in
California provide for cleaner air and water, better fuel economy and a longer emission warranty:
a) One Star-Low Emission. The one-star label identies engines that meet the Air Resources Board’s
Motorized surfboard and Outboard marine engine 2001 exhaust emission standards. Engines meet-
ing these standards have 75% lower emissions than conventional carburetted two-stroke engines.
These engines are equivalent to the U.S. EPA’s 2006 standards for marine engines.
b) Two Star-Very Low Emission. The two-star label identies engines that meet the Air Resources
Board’s Motorized surfboard and Outboard marine engine 2004 exhaust emission standards. En-
gines meeting these standards have 20% lower emissions than One Star-Low Emission engines.
c) Three Star-Ultra Low Emission. The three-star label identies engines that meet the Air Resources
Board’s Motorized surfboard and Outboard marine engine 2008 exhaust emission standards or the
Stern drive and Inboard marine engine 2003 exhaust emission standards. Engines meeting these
standards have 65% lower emissions than One Star-Low Emission engines.
d) Four Star-Super Ultra Low Emission. The four-star label identies engines that meet the Air Re-
sources Board’s Stern-drive and Inboard marine engine 2012 exhaust emission standards. Motor-
ized surfboard and Outboard marine engines may also comply with these standards. Engines meet-
ing these standards have 90% lower emissions than One Star-Low Emission engines.
