14 Operating Instructions—IFC-200 Operating Instructions
Zone 98 is reserved for Coding functions. These functions are only used
by the indicating appliance (bell) circuits B01-B04. If Zone 98 is called
out for M510CJ modules, it has no effect. Only one type of code may be
selected:
● March Time Pulses at 120 PPM
● Temporal Code Pulses temporal code (see NFPA 72)
● California Code Pulses 10 sec. on/5 sec. off
● Two-stage Pulses at 20 PPM for 5 min., then stays on steadily
Indicating appliance (bell) circuits pulse 20 PPM when activated by
Zone 98 under alarm conditions (if no other zone has activated the circuit).
After five minutes, Zone 98 stops pulsing and remains on steadily unless
ACKNOWLEDGE/STEP has been pressed. Pressing DRILL changes this
to steady.
Zone 90 is reserved for presignal functions. This zone is used to delay
control points for human verification. If this zone is included in an
M510CJ, or indicating appliance (bell) circuit control-by-event list, it
inhibits all other control-by-event statements. Detectors and monitor
modules must call out Zone 90 in their program to be included in the
Presignal/PAS operation.
● When any alarm occurs, and no PAS inhibit type monitor module
activates, Zone 90 activates.
● If a second alarm activates or the DRILL key is pressed, Zone 90
deactivates.
● If PAS is selected, and the ACKNOWLEDGE/STEP is not pressed
within 15 seconds, Zone 90 deactivates.
At the first alarm, a programmable 0 to 180 second timer starts.
● If Signal Silence occurs, the timer is frozen.
● If the timer expires, Zone 90 deactivates. The alarm relay and
transmitter are delayed if PAS is selected, but are not delayed for
presignal operations.
The Silence Inhibit Timer starts with the first alarm, and restarts with each
new alarm. It prevents the ALARM SILENCE switch from functioning.
If the Auto Silence Timer is selected, and times out, it performs the same
function as pressing the ALARM SILENCE switch. Pressing the DRILL
switch restarts the timer. A value of zero indicates that no timer is
activated.
