The ACKNOWLEDGE/STEP key silences the piezo sounder and changes
all flashing conditions to steady. Only one press is necessary regardless of
the number of new alarms, troubles, or supervisory signals. If the piezo
was silenced, depressing the switch sends an ACKNOWLEDGE message
to the printer and history file.
ACKNOWLEDGE also automatically sends a special command to the
LCD-80 and ACS annunciators to silence their piezo.
If more than one event exists, ACKNOWLEDGE/STEP advances the
display to the next item and holds there for 20 seconds, or until the
ACKNOWLEDGE/STEP key is pressed again.
ALARM SILENCE performs all functions of ACKNOWLEDGE/STEP.
In addition, if an alarm exists, it turns off all silenceable circuits and
illuminates the ALARM SILENCE LED. It sends an “Alarm Silenced”
message to the printer and the history file.
A subsequent new alarm will resound the system.
