8 Operating Instructions—IFC-200 Operating Instructions
Note that, like alarms, supervisory signals latch and may have their own
control-by-event. They do not cause resound of alarms or reactivation of
silenced alarm control-by-event statements. Supervisory circuits may also
have open circuit trouble, which operates just like any other trouble. If the
event is a security point activation, the Security LED operates in the same
manner as a supervisory event, but the LCD display shows a “Security”
type code. Refer to the Combination Fire/Security Applications section of
the IFC-200 Applications Technical Bulletin in this manual for further
information on security alarms.
Non-alarm points are monitor modules that activate the control-by-event
but do not activate the System Alarm LED or the piezo. These are
tracking points, and have three type codes:
NON-FIRE--is ignored if there is a fire alarm in the system. Non-fire
codes do not send any message to the LCD, history file, printer, or
LCD-80. They are generally used for energy management or other
non-fire situations because their control-by-event statement can be
used to control output devices.
HAZARD ALERT--sends the message to the LCD, history file,
printer, and LCD-80 (status is “ACTIVE”), and changes any coding
program for the four indicating appliance (bell) circuits to remain on
steadily. These points may be used for monitoring critical processes
or other hazardous situations, such as tornadoes.
FIRE CONTROL--operates regardless of any fire condition, sending
messages to the LCD, history file, printer, and LCD-80. These codes
are generally used for air handler shutdown, and are intended to
override automatic fire functions.
The Trouble Monitor-type modules monitor remote power supplies or
other external equipment. Operation is similar to trouble operation but
with the following differences:
The Display Status banner reads ACTIVE.
The Type code reads TROUBLE MON.
The modules latch.
The modules may have control-by-event statements.
