All other trikes use a 19mm socket and are to be 30Nm.
Front hub drives 19mm spanner or socket and to be 35Nm or full weight of a person pushing down.
Quick Release Skewers: Ensure that the lever is in the open posion, the adjuster nut is turned to contact the fork
dropout. When you close the lever there should be heavy resistance that leaves an imprint on your palm for several
seconds. The lever should go past 180 degrees from the open posion in a down and slightly rear direcon. If the lever
does not come over completely it can become loose causing the wheel to become detached from the tricycle under
braking leading to loss of control and/or damage to the tricycle and rider.
• Clean and oil the chain if used regularly.
• Check steering is ght and bars secure.
Monthly
• Check brake pads for wear.
• Check tyre tread.
• If you have a folding tricycle, check the mechanism is correctly tensioned. If it is not tensioned enough the frame
can come under loads that can cause a frame failure. Adjustment is done via a hex key under the lever. There
should be resistance to your hand when locking the frame.
• Check axle bearings; do the wheels spin freely?
• Check gears are adjusted correctly. Over me the gear cable and outer covers can become damaged or stretch
leading to the gears going out of sync.
