Cleaning
! ALWAYS DISCONECT THE BATTERY!
We recommend using dedicated bicycle cleaning products. Waterless cleaners are the safest to use as the electrical system is found
throughout the frame and rear areas. While we do all we can to ensure the system is water resistant the use of pressure washers will
force water past the seals on any cabling. If water is to be used, then a bucket and wash brush is recommended. Ensure the tricycle is
dried aer cleaning and contact spray/water disperser is used around any electrical items.
Do not use spray lubricants or oil near disc brake rotors or pads. Use bicycle disc brake cleaner or pure alcohol wipes regularly to
clean the rotors as these can pick up contaminants from roads and other surfaces while riding. Motorcycle disc brake cleaner is not
suitable for our tricycles and can degrade brake performance.
To clean the chain, use a bicycle degreaser and a s bristled brush (and old toothbrush for example) or a chain cleaning tool. Clean
the old oil o both the chains. This can be done by spinning the cranks backwards to revolve the front chain. Once the chain is
cleaned, rinse with water and using a water disperser dry the chain. To get easier access the rear chain you may need to either p the
tricycle onto its side or remove the rear cargo basket.
Once the chain is dry add a small amount of lubricant on to the rollers of the chain and wipe excess lubricant o with a rag or cloth.
Warning: Ensure the baery is turned o or disconnected before working near the drivetrain. A
moving chain can be dangerous so ensure you are not wearing loose clothing and keep ngers
away from cogs and chain rings.
