4.8.2 Transporting a load
Requirements
Load raised correctly.
Load is not on the ground.
Perfect ground conditions.
Procedure
Accelerate and decelerate with
care.
Adapt your travel speed to the
conditions of the route and the
load you are transporting.
Travel at a constant speed.
Be prepared to brake at all times.
Brake gently in normal circumstances.
Only stop suddenly in dangerous situations.
Watch out for other traffic at crossings and passageways.
Always travel with a lookout at blind spots.
Do not travel across or at an angle on inclines. Do not turn on slopes and inclines,
and always drive with the load facing uphill (see graphic).
4.8.3 Depositing a load
CAUTION!
Loads must not be set down on transport or escape routes, in front of safety
installations or factory equipment that must be accessible at all times.
Requirements
Storage location suitable for storing the load.
Procedure
Drive the truck carefully up to the storage location.
Lowers the load handler.
Z
To avoid damaging the load and the load handler, avoid setting the load down
abruptly.
Lower the load handler so that it is clear of the load (see page 72).
Carefully drive the load handler out from beneath the pallet.
The load is deposited.
