The proper method of holding a SIB is to:
1. Hold the SIB by the ejectors while you keep the SIB vertical, and slide the SIB about three-quarters of
the way out of the chassis.
2. Place one hand underneath the SIB to support it, and slide it completely out of the chassis.
CAUTION: Never hold the SIB by the connector edge. The connectors are fragile and
the SIB will not align and seat properly if the connector is damaged.
CAUTION: Do not stack SIBs on top of one another or on top of any other component.
Storing Line Cards, Routing and Control Boards, and SIBs
You must store line cards, Routing and Control Boards, and SIBs either in the chassis or in a spare shipping
container, horizontally and sheet metal side down. Do not stack these units on top of one another or on
