immediately as they can be lethal and may cause electrocution or re.
• Rememberthatthecable,plugsandotherelectricdevicesmaybe
installed or replaced only by an electrical contractor or engineer
authorised to perform such operations.
• Turnotheweldingmachinewhenitisnotinuse.
Welding power circuit
• Insulateyourselffromtheweldingcircuitbyusingdryandundamaged
protective clothing.
• Nevertouchtheworkpieceandweldingrod,weldingwire,welding
electrode or contact tip at the same time.
• Donotputtheweldingtorchorgroundcableontheweldingmachine
or other electric equipment.
Welding fumes
• Ensureproperventilationandavoidinhalingthefumes.
• Ensuresucientsupplyoffreshair,particularlyinclosedspaces.Youcan
alsoensurethesupplyofcleanandsucientbreathingairbyusinga
fresh-airmask.
• Takeextraprecautionswhenworkingonmetalsorsurface-treated
materials containing lead, cadmium, zinc, mercury or beryllium.
Transportation, lifting and suspension
• Neverpullorliftthemachinebytheweldingtorchorothercables.
Always use the lift points or handles designed for that purpose.
• Onlyuseatransportationplatformdesignedfortheequipment.
• Trytotransportthemachineinanuprightposition,ifpossible.
• Neverliftagascylinderandtheweldingmachineatthesametime.
There are separate provisions for gas cylinder transportation.
• Neveruseaweldingmachinewhensuspendedunlessthesuspension
device has been designed and approved for that particular purpose.
• Donotexceedthemaximumallowedloadofsuspensionboomsorthe
transportation trolley of welding equipment.
• Itisrecommendedthatthewirecoilberemovedduringliftingor
transportation.
Environment
• Theweldingpowersourceisnotsuitableforuseinrainorsnow,
although it can be used and stored outdoors. Protect the equipment
against rain and strong sunlight.
