Virtual COM Port 6.11.1
The TH-D74A/E supports the USB Communications Device Class (CDC), which enables it
to communicate with a PC as a virtual COM port. To make use of the USB virtual COM port,
a special driver needs to be installed. The driver may be downloaded from the following
website
http://www.kenwood.com/i/products/info/amateur/thd74_vcp_e.html
When using the virtual serial communication via USB, configuration of the baud rate is not
necessary. If it is necessary to configure the baud rate for the PC application program in
use, simply make a random selection from the options given. The user may select any one
of the options.
The abovementioned USB feature on the TH-D74A/E enables data loading and writing by
the MCP-D74 at a much faster speed Than over Bluetooth.
USB Audio 6.11.2
The USB Audio feature on the TH-D74A/E supports only audio output.
The output format supported is 48 kHz, 16-bit and monaural audio.
USB Audio outputs the same audio sound as the speaker output.
The output level of USB Audio can be adjusted in
Menu No. 918.
Audio sound is output from the USB even when a speaker microphone or earphone is
connected.
When a Bluetooth headset is connected, USB Audio becomes a port used exclusively for
input and output of the Bluetooth headset.
