TROUBLESHOOTING
PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSES CORRECTIVE ACTION
Snowblower is noisy.
NOTE: Please note this
snowblower may appear to be
noisy.
New chain and new sprocket. Lubricate the roller chain.
NOTE: When snowblower is new it is
louder, the noise will decrease over
time.
Snowblower vibrates or is
abnormally noisy.
Damaged pulley. Replace pulley.
Damaged bearing. Replace bearing.
Damaged fan. Dismount & repair or replace fan.
Auger bent. Replace auger.
Auger stopped turning. Shear bolt broken. Replace shear bolt (for identification,
see Parts List "Snowblower"). Also
see "Maintenance" section.
Chain broken or connecting link
unlocked.
Remove chain guard (for
identification, see Parts List
"Snowblower"). Inspect and repair if
needed.
Snowblower stopped turning. The belts are damaged or snapped. Check & replace damaged belts (see
instructions in section:Belt
replacement & adjustments.
Belt is worn at a specific point. Snowblower was engaged when
already plugged.
Make sure auger & fan are not
plugged or frozen before engaging
snowblower.
Lack of tension on the belt. Adjust the manual clutch cable or
replace the springs if they are
stretched.
Belt showing premature wear. Spring stretched.
Cable stretched.
Check spring. Replace if stretched.
Check cable adjustment and readjust
as needed. See cable adjustment in
the owner’s manual.
Chute rotation is difficult. Dirt or ice may be underneath chute.
Clean the base of chute & the
rotation ring.
Lubricate chute inside & out and the
rotation worm.
The base of the chute may be
damaged or bent.
Clean parts, lubricate & reinstall.
Make sure the retaining plates are
not too tight on the chute base, it may
be a reason why the chute is not
turning freely.
Belts burned. Belts not installed properly. Before installing the belt guard make
sure to engage the clutch arm and
make sure the belts are inside the
pins. The belt must clear the pins by
1/8’’.
