9.3.12 Frost protection
Attempts to prevent freezing of the collectors by pumping heat from the
first-priority storage tank into the collectors:
• The collector temperature is below +5 °C: Solar circuit pump is
switched on.
• The collector temperature is above +7 °C: Solar circuit pump is
switched off.
The frost protection function is only useful when the heat transfer fluid
contains insufficient or no anti-freeze. It is recommended to generally
use heat transfer fluid with anti-freeze!
Caution
Despite the frost protection function being activated, the solar
system can freeze under the following conditions:
• The first-priority storage tank is unloaded, a back-up heating
system is not present.
• Heat transfer fluid contains insufficient or no anti-freeze.
• Power outage
• Unsuitable position of the temperature sensor on the collector
• Collector sensor or cable is broken or has a short.circuit.
• The collectors are installed in a position exposed to the wind.
• Solar circuit pump is faulty.

9.3.13 Upper storage tank display
Shows the temperature in the upper region of 1 or 2 storage tanks. For
this, an appropriate sensor must be connected to each tank. The meas-
ured temperatures are not used for control purposes.
