26. Why is the KARMA “Run” checkbox (6.1-1) grayed-out in
certain Combis?
Any KARMA parameter that is assigned to the KARMA RT Controls (8
knobs, 2 switches) will appear “grayed-out” in the display. For example,
in the case of A000 Voice Of KARMA, Knob 8 will turn the talking synth
and bass on/off at different positions, and Switch 1 will turn the synth
arpeggio on/off. This is achieved by assigning Knob 8 and Switch 1 to the
“Run” parameter, which is why these appear grayed-out and can’t be
changed.
To unassign these assignments and return the editability of the Run
checkboxes, go to (6.4-1) [K RT]-[RTP...4]. In the first column, in the first
3 rows, you will see “Mix” (the “Run” parameter is part of the “Mix”
group). Cursor to “Mix”, and use the Down Value key to set it to Off.
