SongBook Mode
Lyrics/Marker Balance Link
The “Upper/Balance Link” function has been renamed to “Lyr-
ics/Marker Balance Link”.
When the box is checked, moving the Balance slider makes the
Lyrics or Marker page switch accordingly. For example, if the
slider is moved towards the right end, the Lyrics or Marker page
for Sequencer 2 is automatically selected.
Best GM Sound
The “SEQ 1 Best GM Sound” and “SEQ 2 Best GM Sound” func-
tions have been added to the Song Play > Preferences > General
Control page.
Note:
After having installed the new Musical Resources (ver. 2.5),
these options are checked (On) by default.
Installing Musical
Resources is mandatory!
SEQ 1 Best GM Sound
SEQ 2 Best GM Sound
When one of these options is checked, any GM-compliant sound
in the corresponding sequencer is replaced by the best Pa1X
sounds, according to a factory-set table.
Note:
This function does not work on songs created or edited with
the Korg Pa1X, or any other a Pa-Series instrument. This is to pre-
vent changing the original user’s sound assignment.
Hint:
General MIDI (GM) sounds ensure compatibility between
different brands and models of musical instruments, but are hardly
the best-sounding presets. This option can substantially improve
your midifile’s playback, even if this is not always true. A little
experimentation is recommended.
Fast Play
The “Fast Play” function has been added to the Song Play > Pref-
erences > General Control page.
Fast Play
When checked, this function allows to skip the empty setup
beats at the beginning of a song, and immediately start from the
first note. However, any setup data are read and considered.
SongBook Mode
All four STSs of the current Style copied to
a Song Book entry in a single pass
When checking the “Write STS” parameter, in the SongBook >
Book Edit 1 page, a new option has been added, to let you
choose to either save a single STS, or all four STSs of the cur-
rently selected Style.
Write STS
When saving a SongBook entry, and this parameter is checked,
you can save a single STS or all four Style’s STSs.
<STS Name> A single STS is saved to the chosen SongBook
STS. The source are the Keyboard and Pad tracks,
as they have been configured by selecting a Per-
formance, Style STS, SongBook STS, or after
manual editing.
When you press Write and choose the Rename/
Overwrite option, only the new STS is overwrit-
ten, while the others are left untouched.
