Internal Setup and Connections
1. Inserting the batteries
Aerusinga Phillipsscrewdrivertoremovethebaerycase
coverholderontheback,removethebaerycasecover.Insert
thesixincludedAAbaeries(orseparatelysoldalkalinebaer-
iesornickel-metalhydridebaeries)inthecorrectorientation,
accordingtotheillustration.
Donotmixnewbaerieswitholdordierenttypesofbat-
teries.
MakesurethattheseparatelysoldACadapterisnotcon-
nectedwhilethebaeriesarebeinginsertedorreplaced.
Replacing batteries
AashingpowerLEDindicatesthatthebaeriesarenearlyex-
hausted.Replacethebaerieswithnewones.
Ifbatterypowerdecreases,soundsfromthetinyPIANO
maybecomedistorted.
Removeoldbaeriesimmediately.Otherwise,baeryleak-
agemayoccur,resultinginamalfunction.Ifyoudon’t
thinkthatyou’llbeusingtheunitforalongperiodoftime,
youshouldremovethebaeries.
ThetinyPIANOcanalsobe used with
theseparatelysoldACadapterconnected
totheDC9Vjack.
PasstheACadaptercordthroughthe
cordhooksothattheplugwon’tbe
removedfromthejackaccidentally.
Whenyouunhookthecord,don’tpull
thecordwithforce.
2. Turning the tinyPIANO on
Pressthepowerbuonlocatedonthefrontrightofthetop
paneltoturnonthepower.
ThepowerLEDwilllightup.
Toturnthepowero,pressthepowerbuonagain.
ThepowerLEDandthepowertotheunitwillturno.
ThetinyPIANOisequippedwithanautopowerofunction.
Withthisfunction,thetinyPIANOisautomaticallyturnedo
when30minuteshavepassedwithoutakeybeingpressedon
thekeyboard.Inaddition,thetinyPIANOwillnotbeautomati-
callyturnedoduringplaybackofasong.
Theautopowerofunctioncannotbedisabled.
When you replace the battery
cover, be sure to push this part
firmly until it clicks and locks.

3. Adjust the volume
RotatetheVOLUMEknobclockwisetoraise thevolume
level.Rotateitcounter-clockwisetolowerthelevel.
TheVOLUMEknobcontrolsthe outputlevelofthebuilt-in
speakersandtheheadphonesjacks.
Using headphones
Whenyouplugintheheadphones,thebuilt-inspeakerswillbe
muted.Thisisusefulwhenyouwanttoplaythekeyboardin
theeveningwithoutbotheringyourfamilyorneighbors.
Insertthestereoheadphoneplugintotheheadphone jackon
therearpanel.
Thesoundwillbemonaural.
Ifyourheadphonesfeatureastandard-to-miniadapterplug,be
suretoholdtheadapterplugwhenyouconnectordisconnect
theheadphones.
Toprotectyourhearing,donotlistentoloud,high-volume
soundsforlongperiodsoftimethroughtheheadphones.
Connecting audio components
Youcanusetheheadphonejackasaline-outtoconnecttheti-
nyPIANOtopoweredspeakersorotheraudiocomponents.
Connectthedeviceusingcommercially availablecablesthat
are(stereominiplugfortheconnectiontothetinyPIANO)ap-
propriateforthedeviceyou’reconnecting.Thesoundwillbe
monaural.
Beforeconnectinganyaudiocomponents,makesurethat
youturnothepowertotheunitaswellastheaudiocom-
ponents.Otherwise,malfunctionsordamagetotheunitor
componentsmayoccur.
Playing Different Preset Sounds
(Play Mode)
Youcanselectasoundforyourperformancefrom25dierentpre-
setsounds.Eachsoundalreadyhasasuitableeectapplied.
Whenyouturntheunitonorstopsongplayback,theunitwillen-
terPlaymode.
WhilepressingandholdingdowntheSOUNDbuon(located
onthetoppanel),pressoneofthekeysrangingfromC4toC6.
Thesoundwillchangedependingon whichkeyyou press.(See
“SoundandSongList”onbackcover;page16.)
Whenyouturntheuniton,thedefaultsound(ToyPiano)willbe
selected.
Listening to Songs (Song Mode)
ThetinyPIANOfeatures50songs.
Eachsongusesanappropriatesoundandeect.
PresstheSONGbuon,whichislocatedonthefrontrightofthe
toppanel,tobeginplaybackofthesongs,startingwiththerst
one, afterafew seconds.(SeeSoundandSongList”onback
cover;page16.)
Tostopplayback,presstheSONGbuon.
Listening to a specic song
1. Whilepressingandholdingdownthe SONGbuon,press
oneofthekeysrangingfromC4toC6.
Toselectsongs26through50, pressand holddownthe
SONGbuonwhilepressingoneofthekeysrangingfrom
C4toC6twice.
Playbackstartsfrom theselected song,thencontinuesand
repeatsallofthesongsinascendingorderuntilyoustopplay-
back.
2. PresstheSONGbuonagaintostopplayback.
Adifferentsong canbe selectedbypressing and holding down
theSONGbuonandpressingakeyonthekeyboard.Inaddition,
playbackcanbestoppedbysimultaneouslypressingandholding
down theSOUNDandSONG button.(SeeListeningtoaSong
usingaDierent Sound(UserAutoperformMode)”onthenext
page.)
