9.2.3 Recommended protective distances
Recommended protective distances between portable and mobile
RF communication devices and the Kröber O2 Version 4.0
The Kröber O2 is intended for operation in an electromagnetic environment in which radiated RF
disturbances are controlled. The customer or the user of the Kröber O2 can help prevent
electromagnetic interference by maintaining minimum distances between portable and mobile RF
communications equipment (transmitters) and the Kröber O2 as recommended below according to the
maximum output power of the communications equipment.

For transmitters whose rated power is not specified in the above table, the distance can be determined
using the equation associated with the respective column, where P is the rated power of the transmitter
in watts (W) as specified by the transmitter manufacturer.
NOTE 1 AN additional factor of 10/3 was used to calculate the recommended separation distance of
transmitters in the frequency range of 80 MHz to 2.5 GHz to reduce the likelihood that a mobile/portable
communication device inadvertently introduced into the patient area would cause interference.
NOTE 2 These guidelines may not apply in all situations. Electromagnetic wave propagation is affected
by absorption and reflection from buildings, objects and people.
