13.1 Removing the front wheel x
Preparatory work
– Raise the motorcycle with the rear wheel stand. ( p. 70)
– Raise the motorcycle with the front wheel stand. ( p. 71)

Main work
– Remove screw 1 and pull wheel speed sensor 2 out of the hole.
– Remove screws 3 and spacers 4.
– Press back the brake linings with a light lateral tilting of the brake caliper on the brake
disc. Pull the brake caliper carefully back from the brake disc and hang it to one side.

Do not pull the hand brake lever while the brake caliper is removed.

– Loosen screws 5 and 6.
– Unscrew screw 5 about six turns and press your hand on the screw to push the wheel
spindle out of the axle clamp. Remove screw 5.
Warning
Danger of accidents Reduced braking effect caused by damaged brake discs.
– Always lay the wheel down in such a way that the brake discs are not dam-
aged.
– Holding the front wheel, withdraw the wheel spindle. Take the front wheel out of the
fork.
