How to fix black soot on Lennox Indoor Fireplace window?
    • J
      John StephensSep 8, 2025
If a thin coating of black soot forms on the window of your Lennox Indoor Fireplace, it may be because the burner primary air inlet is restricted or blocked. Ensure all fresh air inlets in the insert are free from dust and debris, and recheck these areas periodically. Also, make sure the ceramic logs are in their correct positions. Improper venting may also be the cause and should be checked for fuel blockage, disconnections, or improper installation; make appropriate corrections.

Frequent pilot/burner outages in your Lennox Indoor Fireplace may occur if the pilot valve flame is too low or too high, causing the pilot safety to drop out. Clean and/or adjust the pilot flame for maximum flame impingement on the thermocouple.

How to stop humming or whistling noise coming from my Lennox Stove fireplace?
    • C
      Christy HayesSep 18, 2025
A humming or whistling noise coming from your Lennox Stove fireplace can be due to normal operation. It can also be caused by dirt in the burner orifice. Clean the orifice. The noise may be reduced by slightly turning the flame down, but remember that turning the flame down will reduce the heat output of the fireplace.

What to do if Lennox Indoor Fireplace pilot flame stays lit, but main burner will not light?
    • L
      Lynn LaraSep 4, 2025
If the pilot flame stays lit on your Lennox Indoor Fireplace, but the main burner won't light, there are several potential causes. First, check that the burner control switch (off/on switch, wall thermostat, or remote control) is in the “ON” position and that the thermostat is set to a sufficient temperature. Also, ensure that the standard OFF/ON Switch is in the "OFF" position when turning on the burner using a Remote Switch. Another possibility is a plugged burner orifice that will need to be checked for blockage and removed.
