1.Inserttheoperatingsysteminstallationdiscintotheopticaldrivethatyouhavesetasthefirststartup
device.Then,starttheserverfromtheopticaldrive.
2.WhenthemessagePressanykeytobootfromCDorDVDisdisplayed,pressanykey.Ifthemessage
WindowsSetup[EMSEnabled]isdisplayed,pressEnter.Waitseveralminutesforthesystemtoload
thefiles.
3.WhentheWindowsServer2012R2windowisdisplayed,configurethelanguageandotheroptionsas
youneed,andthenclickNext.
4.ClickInstallnow.

5.ReadthelicensetermsandselectIacceptthelicenseterms.ClickNext.

clickNext.ThefollowingstepsarebasedonthescenariothatCustom:Installthenewerversionof
Storageserveronly(advanced)isselectedinthisstep.
7.IntheWheredoyouwanttoinstallWindows?window,dependingontheSATAconfigurationonyour
server,dooneofthefollowing:
•IftheserverconfigurationissetasRAID,dothefollowing:
a.ConnecttheUSBstoragedevicethatcontainsthedrivertoyourserverandclickLoadDriver.
b.ClickBrowsetolocatetherequireddriverandthenclickOK.
c.Inthe“Selectthedrivertobeinstalled”window,selectHidedriversthatarenotcompatible
withhardwareonthiscomputer,selectthedriverthatyouwanttoinstall,andthenclickNext
toinstallthedriver.
•IftheserverconfigurationissetasIDE,gotonextstep.
•IftheserverconfigurationissetasAHCI,gotonextstep.EnsurethatyouinstalltheAHCIdriver
