InstallingthedriverforaRAIDcard
Thistopicprovidesinstructionsonhowtoinstallthedriverforbothadd-onandonboardRAIDcards,such
astheLSI9286CV-8eHBAcard,theRAID510iadapter,theRAID720iadapter,theRAID720ixadapter,and
theRAID110iadapter.
ToinstallthedriverforaRAIDcard,dothefollowing:
1.DownloadthecorrespondingdriverfortheRAIDcardfromtheLenovoWebsite.Ifthedriverisa
compressedfile,unzipittoafolder.Then,copythefoldertoyourUSBstoragedeviceandconnect
theUSBstoragedevicetoyourserver.
2.LogintotheoperatingsystemandcopythefolderfromyourUSBstoragedevicetothe/tmpdirectory
onyourserver.
3.Usethefollowingcommandstoinstallthedriver:
cd/tmp
cdrpms-2
rpm-ivh*.rpm
Note:Inthecommandlines,rpms-2representsthenameofthefolderthatthedriveisstored.*.rpm
representsthedrivername.Usethecorrespondingfilenameonyourserver.
4.Restartyourserver.
InstallingthedriverforthePMC8885e
ToinstallthedriverforthePMC8885e,dothefollowing:
1.DownloadthecorrespondingdriverfromtheLenovoWebsite.Ifthedriverisacompressedfile,unzip
ittoafolder.Then,copytheRPMfiletoyourUSBstoragedeviceandconnecttheUSBstorage
devicetoyourserver.
2.LogintotheoperatingsystemandcopytheRPMfilefromyourUSBstoragedevicetothe/tmp
directoryonyourserver.
3.Usethefollowingcommandstoinstallthedriver:
cd/tmp
cdrpms-2
rpm-ivh*.rpm
Note:Inthecommandlines,rpms-2representsthenameofthefolderthatthedriveisstored.*.rpm
representsthedrivername.Usethecorrespondingfilenameonyourserver.
4.Restartyourserver.
InstallingdriversfortheVMwarehypervisor
ToinstalldriversfortheVMwarehypervisor,dothefollowing:
1.DownloadthedriverfilefromtheLenovoSupportWebsite.Ensurethatthenameofthedriverfileyou
downloadisoffline-bundle.zip.Themostup-to-datedevicedriversforvariousservermodelsarealways
availableontheLenovoSupportWebsiteat:

2.LogintotheESXihostasanadministratorusingthevSphereClient.Dothefollowingtoconnect
thevSphereClienttotheESXihost:
a.PressF2tologintothesystem.
b.SelectTroubleshootingOption➙ESXiShellisEnabled.
c.PressAlt+F1toenterthecommandlineinterface.Usethefollowingcommandtodisablethefirewall:
