Lift up on the battery, and slide it out of the controller canister.

Follow the appropriate procedures for your location to recycle or dispose of the failed battery.
To comply with International Air Transport Association (IATA) regulations,
never ship a lithium battery by air unless it is installed within the controller
shelf.

Install new DE2000H or DE4000H battery.

After removing the failed battery, you can install the new one.
