Step movement moves the jaws apa rt in discreet steps of the distance set.

Cycle movement cycles the jaws open and shut by the set distance.
·
Velocity mode moves the jaws in the specified direction at the specified velocity.
·
Force mode will apply a constant force value to the sample.

Manual Tensile Function

Set up your desired action, and tap the s tart action button (9) to perform the action. the Zero force (2) a nd distance (3) controls allow you to set the
force and dista nce readings to zero prior to starting the action. The movement of the tension jaws will be shown on the graphica l repres entation (1)
Tensile Setup
Use this screen to set calibra tion values for your TST system
1. Proportiona l force
2. Integral force
3. Deriva tive force
4. Sample width
5. Sample height (thickness)
6. Calibration distance between jaws
Proportiona l (1), Integra l (2) a nd Derivative (3) (PID) are values for Cons ta nt Force. These values should only be changed after discussion with Linkam
Scientific as they have been found to give a reasonable PID control feedback for force based on a number of samples.
Sample width (4) and Sample Height (5) a re values allowing the system to accurately calculate Stres s/Stra in. If you have selected Stress/Stra in a s a
dis play output you mus t enter the values for your sample here.
The calibration distance between jaws setting (6) should NOT be used.
