Expansion Board Setup
All motorised stages will have two motor control expa nsion boards fitted which have the following s etup screen (both screens are identical, ba rring
that one is for X and one is for Y Axis movement), accessed by taping on the setup bar and taping on the blue arrow:
No options can be cha nged on this screen, it is for informa tion only.
Tensile stages
This section applies to the TST range of stages, which include the TST350, TST350E a nd TST250V.
Additional main screen display items:
When a tensile stage is connected, the main control screen will display the following a dditional informa tion:
1. Dis tance between Jaws / Stress value
2. Force being a pplied / Strain value
3. Current velocity
4. Tensile control panel
5. Ma nua l Tens il e Control /Tens il e Setu p
6. Current jaw status indicators
7. Tensile pa use button
Current jaw status (6) shows the current motion status of the jaws. If they are currently in motion the moving indica tor will be red, and green when
they are stationary. The open and clos ed indicators will light up blue when the jaws are in their fully open and closed positions res pectively.
A tensile motion paus e button (7) will appea r when the stage motors are currently in motion. It will appear as a stop symbol when the motors
are sta rted and when ta ped it will pa use the motor opera tion and change to a sta rt symbol . Tap the button again to resume motion. Heating
will not be pa used when this control is us ed.
Note: Select between Distance/Force and Stres s/Stra in displa y in the force tab in option boa rd setup screen. In order for Stres s/Stra in values to be
accurate you mus t enter values for s ample width and thickness in the Tensile setup screen.
