• Using these grabber clamps will increase
the usability of this test
• Do not create a short circuit during the
test
After the current has been measured it needs to get converted into the “real” value (pressure).
Identify the min. and max. value of the sensor using the datasheet. Since the PS2 controller uses
4 – 20 mA signals the value 4 mA is related to the min. value and the value 20 mA is related to
the max. value. Please use the following formula to calculate the real value (for linear sensor
characteristics):
• MAX
sensor
= maximum value of the sensor (datasheet; value at 20mA)
• MIN
sensor
= minimal value of the sensor (datasheet; value at 4mA)
• Value
multimeter
= measured current on the multimeter
After the measured value has been calculated, check whether this value is valid. Check which
scenario fits to your situation:
• The calculated measured value is similar to the value in PumpScanner but is not a valid
value → replace the sensor
• The calculated measured value is not similar as the PumpScanner value but the
calculated measuring value is valid → replace the IO-Board; no improvement
afterwards? → replace also the Main-Board
• The calculated measured value is not similar to the PumpScanner value and the
calculated measuring value is not valid → replace the sensor → recheck, probably you
need to replace the IO-Board and Main-Board as well
