 Suspect the instrument
cluster for malfunction
 Replace with a new one
 Clear the error codes and
verify

 Examine the open
circuit of the signal line
to instrument cluster .
 Repair/replace the
wiring harness
 Clear the error codes
and verify

 Ignition OFF
 Inspect the interface between the VSS
and speedo gear fitted on the output
shaft of the transmission
Go to Step 8

 Ignition OFF
 Repair the interface
between the VSS and
speedo wheel
 Clear the error codes
and verify

 Ignition OFF
 VSS connector
DISCONNECTED
 ECU connector
CONNECTED
 Check the voltage
between pin 1 of the
VSS connector and
battery negative
